A Fundraiser to Reunite and Heal

Dear family, friends, and colleagues,
I am writing to ask for your help with a very important matter. My elderly parents, Orlando Morales Morales (74) and Mercedes Fernandez Alvarez (65), who have lived their entire lives in Cuba, are in dire need of appropriate medical assistance. My father is fully blind in his right eye, and his left eye is at 3%, with his vision still degrading every day due to highly advanced glaucoma, something that is very treatable in the US. Recently, he’s also been presenting symptoms of either macular degeneration or spillage of the blood vessels in the eye (which has yet to be determined). My mother has been living with chronic lymphangitis for over 36 years, caused by the strain of giving birth to me, their only child (I don’t know what it’s like to have a healthy mother). They have had a hard life, lacking proper medical assistance and suffering from misdiagnosis. I just want to give them the best care in their golden years and keep them closer to me and their 5-year-old granddaughter.
I am trying to bring them to the United States through the Humanitarian Parole Program, which was just approved for Cuban nationals on January 6, 2023, and is an opportunity I cannot miss. The program is free, and I will be their sponsor through the filing of Form I-134A with USCIS, which is a document a US individual signs to accept financial responsibility for the beneficiary, who is coming to live in the United States with legal humanitarian parole status. However, the costs for their health care as elderly persons are unforeseen and overwhelming, and the shelter I will have to arrange for them while they are treated in Miami is highly expensive as well. I am hoping that with your generosity, I can raise enough funds to cover and provide my parents with adequate refuge and the medical care they deserve.
Any amount you can give, no matter how small, will make a huge difference and bring my parents one step closer to the help they desperately need. Please consider contributing to this campaign and sharing it with your friends and family.
Thank you for your support and generosity.
Sincerely, Elvis
